Teach Your Children About Money – Very Essential

Man's journey on the road to success begins at the age of accountability and continues on a daily basis for the rest of his life. As soon as a child is wise enough to claim any money given to him / her as 'my money'; That child is ready for Financial Literacy lessons.

Many nations are experiencing economic quagmire now. This could have been greatly minimized if not totally eliminated. How could the present economic predicament have been avoided? Answer: if leaders of today, as school children then, were taught the essential principles of wealth creation and sustenance. It saddens me how nations with large endowment of human and natural resources are doing so poorly.

The same phenomenon applies to children of wealthy parents, at least majority of them. Studies show that a high percentage as high 90%) of the children of wealthy people do not end up wealthy in life. At best, they just earn enough to get by in life. This is because they never learn how to make, to keep and properly use money. They were either taught nor disciplined on how to operate the essential laws of wealth creation.

Unfortunately, financial literacy is not taught in most schools; It is not part of the school curriculum at all. As parents, whether wealthy or poor, we all fervently wish better standards of life than we ever had for our children. Parents struggle to ensure that their offspring do not live the lives of hardship and poverty which they themselves had to go through.

Yes, it is quite tasking to teach the concept of money management to young children but they need to know the basic skills about money and they need to learn it NOW.

There are people who believe children have no business learning about money; But the truth is that habits are formed from an early age. It is the habits we teach our children that they will grow up with and live by. So many adults find it difficult to save today because they were never taught the habits of saving money and using it wisely.

Let us help our children and our future; Let us join hands to eliminate financial illiteracy. Let us cooperate to build nations that will stay in peace with each other because everyone is comfortable. Starting with one child, your child, we can turn around the economy of our nations for the better. YES, We Can!

NLP – 3 Beliefs You Need to Design the Life You Desire

According to neuro linguistic programming, a belief is not a mere idea; a belief is an idea to which you adhere, an idea to which you consciously or subconsciously said ‘Yes! That’s mine!’ Following are the 3 types of beliefs you need to have to be able to design the life that you envision.

To the events, you give one or several meanings. These meanings give birth to some beliefs, beliefs regarding yourself, others and the world around you. All of this builds a set of convictions that will help you to realize extraordinary things or stop you in the search of excellence.

Following are the 3 types of beliefs you need to have to be able to design the life that you envision:

1. You need to believe in yourself. Self-confidence and self-esteem are often destroyed or lost by our different experiences in life. When one lost his self-esteem, he begins to play the “blame” game. People who have healthy and high self-esteem play the “I know I can do it” game or the “I deserve to be happy and successful” game. These attitudes will ultimately create a system that will attract the good that they desire. The games you play regarding yourself become self-fulfilling prophecies.

2. You need to believe in others. Self-confident people know that they need others to succeed, solve problems, grow, change and communicate. That’s the reason why you need to choose your friends very carefully. They will determine your future. The influence they can have on you can destroy you or create an enormous amount of positive energy that will have you achieve success faster than you ever thought possible.

3. You need to believe in God, the Universe or some higher power. People who are self-actualized believe in some sort of higher power, something or someone who is beyond them, that is in control of everything and that will give them everything they need, for their best and highest good. Believing that the Universe, source of all power, wants you to be successful, will give you the strength you need to pursue your dreams and turn your dreams into reality.

Now the question is: “On a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being the lowest, how much do you believe in yourself, others and the Universe?” Design your life now. Ask and you shall receive. You can apply many neuro linguistic programming techniques to achieve what you really want.

MLM Training – First Timers MLM Training Guide For Network Marketing Success

My first day in MLM Training!

I was both excited and nervous because I had just completed my first “NDO” or New Distributor Orientation with my Millionaire upline from Taiwan. He had joined Amway more than 10 years ago, became a Diamond in Amway but quit later and switched to Nuskin. He became a Team Elite Million Dollar Earner in Nuskin and now I believe he has made over 10 million US Dollars in MLM.

My upline said, “This business is very simple. All you need are these 4 pieces of paper!”

“Hmm!” I was kinda skeptical, yet I had to believe him because he is successful.

So he dug out a few pieces of paper from his pocket and started writing down on the whiteboard.

1) 2 Important Concepts:

i) Long Term Thinking

ii) 100% Duplication

“Ok! the first important concept in our training today is to have LONG TERM THINKING!”

Then he started to explain about why MLM or Network Marketing is a long term business just like any other traditional business, minus the problems of traditional businesses like employee problems, logistics problems, management issues etc! which are all handled by the MLM or Network Marketing company.

All you have to care about is “Building your network of distributors around the world”.

“Give yourself the next 1 to 2 years to build a solid network of distributors around the world and you will become the owner of a multinational network that generates solid income for you every month, even if you are sleeping in Singapore and others are still awake in Japan.”

Now that sounds really exciting to me!

The next 1 or 2 years all my friends would still eating textbooks for breakfast in university, while I would be building my pipeline to early retirement.

And so I did exactly that, I told myself, “For the next 1 to 2 years, I will give 110% to my network marketing business!”

2 years later in 2003, my network grew from Singapore to Malaysia, China, Indonesia and I had customers from as far away as Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong!

So that is exactly what YOU MUST DO too, commit to give yourself at least 1 to 2 years to build your business!

Have “LONG TERM THINKING!” and treat your network marketing business like a real business!

Important concept number two, “100% Duplication”.

“Duplication is the key to success in network marketing, however to quote this example!

1 x 1 = 1

0.9 x 0.9 = 0.81

0.8 x 0.8 = 0.64

0.7 x 0.7 = 0.49

0.6 x 0.6 = 0.36

0.5 x 0.5 = 0.25

and so on!

If we are to put that in percentages as in 100%, 90%, 80%, etc! it simply means that the less you duplicate the successful system that your upline taught you, the less your chances of success!

Well, that seems to be quite logical to a certain extent.

McDonald’s uses franchising to expand their business around the world and if you notice McDonald’s will always maintain its brand capital “M” and colors “yellow and red” theme in their fast food restaurants from USA to China and even Russia.

The system is 100% duplicated across the globe.

Once you understand this concept, you realise that you should trust your successful upline and use the system they are using to achieve success.

“Do not reinvent the wheel unless it’s to make it more efficient!”

Every network marketing company or organization should have an efficient and effective duplication system that everyone in the organization can copy easily to achieve their own level of success in the business.

“Ok, so follow my successful mentor and I will not go wrong! I get the message.”

“Do you?”

Then my millionaire upline wrote on the board,

2) Why 100% Duplication?

i) To avoid unnecessary mistakes

ii) To have a stable network

3) How do you duplicate 100%?

i) There are 3 steps you must go through,

Learn; Do; Teach

ii) There are 3 elements of the Support System that will help you as well,

Successful Leaders; Events; Tools

“Your aim in this business is to first be a good student, then become a good teacher and finally become a great leader!”

“First you must be willing to leave behind all your baggage from your previous job or business and have a BACK TO ZERO mentality, so that you can start on the right foot and we can guide you in the right path towards success!”

“After that, once you have reached a certain level of success in the business, your role switches to teaching, guiding and leading your team towards their success!”

Thus, the 3 steps to success in your MLM business is to first be able to go back to zero and start learning the ropes, then lead by example and take action to achieve success, before finally teaching others to do the same.

While you play a vital role in your own business, your company or organization should have a proper support system that provides you with a number of successful upline or sideline leaders who are already successful.

These leaders act as mentors to keep you on the right track and lead you in the right direction. They are very approachable, willing to help you learn and overcome difficulties that you will meet along the way.

There should be regular company or organization level events which cover training sessions, motivational rallies, experience sharing and company meetings ranging from small team gatherings to big hotel meetings.

The bottom line is, network marketing or MLM is still a people business and people since the dawn of time, need to gather together regularly.

“Just like a piece of red hot burning charcoal in a flaming bon-fire, if you take out that lone piece of charcoal and move it away from the bon-fire, what happens to that lone piece of charcoal?”

“It starts to cool off!”

“What happens if you put it back into the bon-fire again?”

“It heats up again and helps the bon-fire to continue burning brighter than before!”

This is the rule of survival in MLM or Network Marketing.

“Meetings and events are where people re-charge. Small meetings create small decisions. Big Meetings create BIG DECISIONS”.

Finally, any solid network marketing or MLM company must have powerful marketing tools that help the distributor share the company’s message easily with anyone they can come into contact with.

“You can’t win a battle without guns and bullets!”

Similarly, you can’t win in network marketing without the proper tools.

Tools refer to things like a company magazine which explain everything about the company, products, pay plan and system clearly and simply to the person who you pass the magazine to.

Tools refer to things like an audio CD that anyone can play in their car or listen to at home with a CD/Mp3 audio deck and have one of your top successful leaders present the business opportunity to them while you wait to make a follow up call the next day.

Tools refer to things like a Video DVD that anyone can play in their DVD player at home or on their laptop/desktop computer and again have a top leader present the business opportunity to them professionally.

Tools refer to things like a website that combines the contents of the magazine, audio CD, Video DVD and your personal contact information into an ALL-IN-ONE online information resource that runs 24/7 everyday, never sleeps and does all the talking and presenting for you while you are sleeping at home!

All these tools and more which I can just keep on listing will dramatically simplify, automate and duplicate our efforts a thousand times more than what you can do alone.

Your role in the business is just to LEVERAGE the tools and “PASS THE INFORMATION” onto as many people as you possibly can every single day.

“Can you learn how to pass a CD or DVD to a potential distributor or customer?”

“Can you learn how to pass a magazine to a potential distributor or customer?”

“Can you learn how to give someone your namecard with your website address on it?”

“Heck, nowadays with email and text messaging on your mobile phone, all you have to do to start the business is email or text message your website address to everyone on your contact list and invite them to check out your website and your new business!”

“Now that’s what I call simple duplication!”

Point Number 4!.

4) 8 Daily Habits

1. Show the Plan

2. Share the Products

3. Listen to a training audio

4. Read a recommended book

5. Report your progress to your upline

6. Invite a guest to a weekly event

7. Use the products yourself

8. Add a new name to your list

Now, as in Stephen R.Covey’s best-selling book “The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People”, if you want to become successful in network marketing fast, you have to change your daily habits to become highly effective and highly efficient.

A successful network marketer must not only expand his social network constantly, you should devote a lot of time to personal development and growth.

1. Show the Plan:

Show someone a Video DVD or magazine and explain that you are looking for business partners and the DVD or magazine explains your business proposal in detail.

2. Share the Products:

Show them a sample of your products and explain the unique value and benefits it brings to the consumer.

3. Listen to a training audio:

Listen to training audios to upgrade your knowledge about the company, products, pay plan and the duplication system.

4. Read a recommended book:

Read books that will upgrade your personal knowledge and help you grow as a leader.

5. Report your progress to your upline:

Call your upline every day to update your progress. If I’m your upline and I do not hear from you in a week, I know that you have not been taking action. On the other hand, if you let me know how many people you have called everyday, I know that you are making progress or doing something wrong that needs to be corrected.

6. Invite a guest to a weekly event:

If you have local events and presentations, make sure to leverage them by inviting your prospects to attend these events. 3rd party testimonials and justification are always better than your own.

7. Use the products yourself:

Network marketing is like sharing a good movie that you watched with your friend and telling them that they should watch it too. So if you do not use the products yourself, how can you possibly share your experience or views with anyone else?

8. Add a new name to your list:

If you are depending on your family and relatives to succeed in network marketing! good luck to you. Although I have seen network marketers who have great and supportive family members, personally that did not happen to me! My experience is that most of my best team members are people who are outside my family circle. So learn to make new friends every single day and find like-minded people who will join your business and your team.

So there you have it, the 8 Daily Habits that you must adopt to achieve success FAST in your MLM or Network Marketing Home Based Business.

So think about it, “What do you really want? I mean, what do you really, REALLY WANT?”

If you really desire greater wealth, better health and more freedom, “JUST DO IT!”

Action speaks louder than words!

Best LED TV 2010-2011

LED TVs have rapidly become incredibly popular, and are clearly emerging as the new standard in televisions. Technically an advanced type of LCD TV, LED TVs have acquired the market enough to fall into a category of their own, and are poised to give older LCD TVs a serious run for the money. The technology allows for a greatly improved picture quality compared to plasma, LCD and DLP TVs. As the price gap narrows between LED TVs and the rest, be sure to check out all the features to choose the best LED TV for you.

Everyone is buying LED TVs, and the smart ones are making sure those TVs are wi-fi compatible. After all, everything is going wireless these days, so why not your TV? Out of all the manufacturers of LED TVs, the brands that stand out by offering wireless capabilities are LG and Samsung. Out of these two, Samsung is the brand that is generally considered the leader of this particular market.

On the other hand, LG's plus points include the fact that their TVs tend to be less expensive while also getting excellent customer reviews. While you're going wireless, be sure to check that your new audio and video devices fit the bill, too – for starts, you can look out Sony's great new wireless Blu-ray player which comes at an attractive price tag.

Thanks to LED technology, added to which is the new line of semiconductors, video images are sharper than ever – you will enjoy deepest blacks, crisp whites and all-round color vibrancy in an overall viewing experience that is nothing short of spectacular. Higher contrast ratios of 500,000: 1 and faster refresh rates at 250 Hz and above mean that you get picture quality that is beyond compare. Lifelike images and crisply displayed motion, even for high-speed content, takes TV viewing into the future.

Not only is the picture quality great on the best LED TVs, but they are designed to use significantly less power. On average, these televisions use 40-50% less power than comparable LCD TVs, making them easy on power resources as well as on your wallet – you'll find yourself paying less each month in utility bills. What's more is that no mercury is used in making these TVs. Mercury is toxic to the environment, and is generally used in LCD TVs so it's great that these TVs are made without this harmful substance.

As a general trend, the best LED TVs in today's market have consistently been coming from Samsung, clearly at the forefront of this technology. Not far behind are brands such as Sony and Toshiba. As the competition gets more fierce, prices of these TVs will consistently be lowered, and quality improved as kinks and bugs are fixed in the performance. Generally speaking it is recommended to go not for the top of the line models but the ones right below, for the best price-and-performance balance to get the best value for your money.

In these cases the performance of the TV is almost always comparable to the top-end model, and features offered tend also to be quite similar, but the difference in price is usually quite significant. In the past months alone, prices on these TVs have been dropping significantly so clearly now is the right time to jump in and buy.

Engineering Continuing Education – What Is the Future of Engineering?

With the current down turn in the economy many engineers have loss their jobs or worried that they maybe losing their job soon. Budget constraints both in the public and private sector are forcing to think about how secure the jobs really are. But as we all know this recession will not last forever. Sooner or later the promised recovery will begin. The question is what engineering will benefit from the renewed economy and which ones will not fair so well? There is no real crystal ball, but there are clear indicators that every engineer should be aware of and make preparations accordingly.

Engineers will need to continue their education to stay up with the latest technologies to offer their clients the best solutions. Most of the State Licensing Boards require Professional Engineers to renew their professional licenses periodically with a minimum number of continuing education units. These units are usually Professional Development Hours (PDH) or Continuing Education Units (CEU). One PDH is equivalent to one hour of course education, and one CEU is equivalent to ten PDH or ten hours of course education. Some may find that their profession is not growing or trailing behind may need to change careers or strength their technical knowledge.

One of the best indicators of upcoming markets is to know what the baby boomer generation needs and wants. The baby boomers, the individuals born between 1945 and 1964, are now approaching retirement age. Many will be retiring and will require some medical and health assistance. They will also want medication to appear young as long as possible. Obviously fields that support this industry will do very well. The most likely profession to benefit is Biomedical Engineers. They are necessary to improve new medical devices and equipment. In addition, new facilities will be required for the aging population. Independent Living Facilities and senior communities will rise in demand. This will definitely improve prospects for Civil and Mechanical Engineers.

Another field that will continue to have a high demand for engineers is the environmental fields, which includes new green products, renewable energy, water resources, and waste-water management. The United States will continue to encourage renewable energy including wind and solar power with government grants and other types of funding. These projects will generate numerous jobs for many different professions. As the population continues to expand a greater demand will be placed on housing and our water resources and waste-water management. These increased demands will increase jobs for Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Environmental Engineers.

Due to the increasing population and aging facilities, the government will also need to expand and improve the country’s infrastructure. Roads, bridges, dams, railways, airports, and utilities throughout the country will need greater attention. These improvements will also increase the demand for Civil Engineers.

According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Occupational Outlook Handbook”, 2010-11 Edition, over the next decade, 2008 to 2018, the engineering field should grow by 11%. In 2008 engineers held 1.6 million jobs in the United States. A little more than 45% were employed by the three leading professions; Civil, Mechanical, and Industrial Engineering. As expected the three smallest engineering professions are highly specialized; Agricultural, Mining and Safety, and Marine and Naval Engineers.

Another surprise was that about 3 percent in 2008 were self-employed, many as consultants. This means that 97% of engineers are employed by the government or private firms.

One would think that most engineers are employed by the government, but according to the report about 12 percent in 2008 were employed by the Federal, State, and local governments, and about half of them were in the Federal Government, mainly in the U.S. Departments of Defense, Transportation, Agriculture, Interior, and Energy, and in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Many engineers in State and local government agencies worked in highway and public works departments. Approximately 45% are employed in three professions; Civil, Mechanical, and Industrial engineering.

Three leading employed professions

  • Civil Engineers- 278,400
  • Mechanical Engineers – 238,700
  • Industrial Engineers – 214,800

Three lowest employed professions

  • Agricultural Engineers 2,700
  • Mining and Geological Engineers, including mining safety engineers 7,100
  • Marine Engineers and Naval Architects 8,500

The three engineering professions expecting the highest growth rate over the decade are Biomedical, Environmental, and Civil. These professions provide professional services in the industries which are expected to have the most significant growth. These fields include Health and Medical, Environmental Technologies, Infrastructure including transportation and utilities, and Water Resources and Waste Management. These industries also require the engineers to be local to provide the necessary services.

In addition to openings from job growth, many openings will be created by the need to replace current engineers who retire; transfer to management, sales, or other occupations; or leave engineering for other reasons.

The three slowest growing engineering professions are Chemical, Electrical and Electronics, and Computer Hardware engineers. These particular professions are receiving extreme competition from outside of the United States. Also note that these professions are not required for the most part to hold a Professional Engineering license. Companies are finding that engineers in other countries in electrical, computer, and chemical industries can provide the same service for a far lower salary or fee.

Three leading Job Growth rate professions

  • Biomedical Engineers – 72%
  • Environmental Engineers – 31%
  • Civil Engineers – 24%

Three laggards in Job Growth rate

  • Chemical Engineers – (-2)%
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineers – 1%
  • Computer Hardware Engineers – 4%

The three engineering professions with highest initial salary are in petroleum, chemical, and mining industries. Petroleum and Mining Engineers are expected to have a growth rate of 18% and 15% respectively over the decade, while Chemical Engineering is expected to decline by 2%.

The three engineering professions with the lowest starting salaries are Civil Biomedical, and Agricultural. Civil, Biomedical and Agricultural Engineers are expected to have a growth rate of 24%, 72% and 12% respectively over the decade.

Three leading Starting Median Salaries professions

  • Petroleum Engineers – $83,121
  • Chemical Engineers – $64,902
  • Mining and Mineral Engineers – $64,404

Three laggards Starting Salaries

  • Civil Engineers – $52,048
  • Biomedical Engineers – $54,158
  • Agricultural Engineers – $54,352

So what is the lesson? The engineering professions that require a local engineer usually with a Professional Engineer license will remain in high demand; especially Civil Engineers. Engineering fields that can be replaced by foreign engineers and do not require a Professional Engineering license will suffer. Engineers who have not kept current in their field may find themselves at a disadvantage when seeking promotions or during layoffs. The best way to stay current is through continuing education courses.

In this article we have discussed the future of engineering. Although for some the future looks bleak right now, the number of new engineering jobs is projected to grow. Many of the new industries will require engineers. The main way to ensure employment is to be aware of the demand for your profession and to stay current with the latest engineering skills; technical, ethical, and managerial. Acquiring the necessary skills can be the difference between an employed and an unemployed engineer.

Efficient Email

Checking email too often is a significant productivity drain. Email by its very nature isn’t usually urgent unless it’s your entire job, such as answering customer support emails. Here are some tips to prevent email from taking too big a chunk out of your day.

1. Decide in advance exactly when you’ll check email.

Don’t check email haphazardly. You can easily waste 30-60 minutes per day checking email too often. In most cases you should be fine checking your email 3x per day maximum. I typically check mine in the morning, at lunch, and at the end of the workday. And that’s only if I’m involved in active open-loop communications. If I don’t have any active open loops, then I’ll usually check email once or twice a day. Handle your email in batches to increase your efficiency.

Experiment with how often you really need to check email. Realize that you’re paying a productivity price the more often you check it. Curiosity is not a good enough reason to check email. Have a legitimate business reason for checking email as often as you do. See how infrequently you can push it without causing problems. For many people once a day or even once every two days will work just fine.

Once you check email in the morning, promise yourself that you won’t check it again until the end of the day, and set a specific time. I’ll check my email twice today, so I won’t check it again until after 6:00pm. If it’s before that time, I won’t allow myself to check it.

If you get addicted to checking your email too often, you can help break the habit by making it harder to run your email program. Remove the program icon from your desktop and your quick launch bar, so you have to hunt for it on the Start Menu. Or make yourself launch Explorer and navigate to find the icon from there. Adding extra steps can help break the pattern of impulse checking. And if that still doesn’t work, setup your email on a separate PC like a laptop that you must boot up every time you want to check email.

2. Use email only for non-urgent communication.

Don’t turn email into an urgency-driven communication tool. It’s not designed for that. If time is of the essence, then pick up the phone. Now that you can get unlimited long distance for $25/month from companies like Vonage (also check out Skype), there’s no reason to be stingy with the phone.

If you have others pressuring you to check your email more often than once or twice a day, such as people that get frustrated if they don’t get a reply from you within an hour or two, then you need to push back. Let such people know that they should never use email for truly urgent communication with you — if they need a fast reply, they must pick up the phone or visit you in person (if you’re both co-located).

3. Disable email checking on program startup.

Don’t set your email program to auto-check email every time you launch the program. You want to be able to send an email at any time during the day without automatically checking email too. You may often need to send emails during the day as part of various tasks, but you don’t need to check email at those times. Check email only when there’s a legitimate reason for checking.

4. Log your email usage.

Create an email log, and record how often you check email. You can do this with a sheet of paper. Just record the start and stop times whenever you run your email program. Do it for about a week, and see how much time you’re spending on email. Is it worth it? If you’re checking your email more than 20 times a week without a legitimate reason, you’re wasting way too much time. Try giving yourself a daily or weekly email checking quota, and once you hit it, you can’t check your email anymore until the next day/week when your quota resets. Offer yourself a reward like going to see a movie or going out to dinner the first week you come in under quota.

Email is a powerful business and personal communication tool, but it’s easily abused. Why? Because it’s so easy. Checking and answering email is something you know you can do, so it provides an immediate sense of accomplishment. But it’s a hollow victory, and if you spend your days masterfully checking and answering email, you’ll go nowhere and crowd out those actions that could really move you ahead.

Replace frivolous email abuse with purposeful intention. Use it to enhance your productivity instead of to destroy it. Consciously scrutinize the way you use email, decide what legitimate role it will play in your life, and set boundaries to enforce that role.

Media Exposure Is Marketing Gold – If You Know How to Use It

At a glance:

  • Implicit media endorsements make you stand out from the competition.
  • It’s not advertising; it’s building credibility.
  • Maximize your exposure by posting it on your Web site and sharing it via social media.

A colleague of mine, who’s a former newspaper reporter, tells a story about a savvy attorney she knew. He’d tip her off whenever he had a particularly juicy case if she promised to include his name alongside that of his client in her story. Whether he won the case or lost it, people remembered his name and associated him with high-profile cases. He’d figured out that having his name in the paper bought him something no amount of advertising could: credibility.

For anyone trying to build a business, sell a product or get their book into the hands of more consumers, the implicit endorsement that comes from being interviewed by the media is what I call “marketing gold.”

Let me explain. Thanks to the Internet, you and every competitor you have, big or small, have the same chance to reach your potential consumers. So, what makes one business, one product or book more appealing than another? It’s endorsements from the media that make you stand out. Let’s face it – if USA Today has chosen to review your book, or refer to it in an article, it gives reason to believe there’s something special about it. If a doctor is quoted in the news about solutions to a particular health issue you’re dealing with – your instinct will be to check out him and his product first, because the media must consider him an authority to have quoted him.

When the media recognizes that you have something important to say, you gain credibility. This is the marketing gold I’m referring to: the endorsements from TV and radio show hosts, the editorial coverage in newspapers and magazines – and now, bloggers, news Web sites and followers on social media too. All these forms of recognition give others confidence you’re as good as you say you are. But, it’s upon you to use this “gold” as a critical part of your marketing to let people know these endorsements exist.

The return on investment usually isn’t immediate, which can be frustrating to people who expect a surge in business or a spike in sales with every media interview. That used to happen more often in the old days – I’m talking way back in the ’90s – when a radio talk show host might chat with you for 30 or 60 minutes and newspapers had twice as many pages to fill. It became apparent that when a client’s message clearly addressed an urgent public problem, along with their expertise and solution-oriented content, they could hit the jackpot.

From January to April, an IRS expert who spoke of resolutions to IRS problems or gave on-air tips on how to prevent IRS abuses would always see a huge jump in book sales. Or, the health expert, who got on the air during flu season and explained why his health program would make them feel better faster would sell a ton of product.

But the old days are gone and here we are in 2012. Today’s talk radio interviews are brief – 7 to 10 minutes in the larger markets – and newspapers have no space for full feature stories on interesting entrepreneurs and writers. There are far fewer opportunities to grab an audience for a significant length of time.

So how do you grow your investment in PR? Marketing your media exposure is a strategy that pays big dividends over time – but requires an effort from you.

  • Your Web site should prominently display your endorsements: “As seen on CBS,” “featured in the Louisville Gazette,” “heard on WFLA radio.”
  • Don’t forget to mention the media coverage to your Twitter followers and Facebook fans, too. The third-party endorsement will help you build more contacts, because people like knowing who the experts are and following them.
  • Use the media you’ve obtained to help you gain more TV, radio and print exposure. It serves as credibility for journalists as well and they will be more likely to want to interview you if you’ve already been vetted by other media professionals.
  • Let your personality shine online and respond to journalists and followers alike with interesting commentary and insights – not pleas to buy your book or product.

Yes, it takes work, a strong theme and a message that resonates. But if you invest wisely, you’ll grow rich in marketing gold.

Forex Executor: What Makes This System Different?

If you are hearing about the latest forex trading service – Forex Executor – for the first time and you want to do some of your own investigation into it, you can research the Forex Accurate program in order to gain some insight. This newest entry into the forex field is based on the aforementioned Forex Accurate program, put together as it was by the same team of associates: Victor Harrisson and Richard Chandler. If you’d rather save yourself some time, you can read this article, wherein we will disclose a few of the dirty little secrets about Forex Executor and what you may expect from it.

Before we begin, we think it only prudent and fair to state that programs such as this are as dynamic as living organisms – progressing, changing, correcting, and improving all the time. What has happened in the past may not always be a reliable gauge for future performance. We assert that this applies to both the positive and the negative side of the coin.

Most people interested in the forex market are familiar with the proliferation of trading robots that have hit this market in recent years. What makes Forex Executor different from all the rest of these products?

For one thing, FX Executor is not a trading robot. It contains a trading copier software that allows it to enter trades on the member’s behalf based on an actual human trader’s activities. In other words, it duplicates that trader’s trades within the participant’s own account. Or at least, that is the stated objective. The early results in the Accurate program were hopeful, as members were impressed by the working functionality of the auto-execute trading aspect. But as time wore on, problems surfaced with disconnections so that trades were not being made. We’ll have to wait and see if any of these problems have been addressed in the Executor program.

Another aspect that is different is the availability of a variety of trading styles – based on the models of conservative, moderate, and aggressive – from which program members are able to choose. The run-of-the-mill robot product usually utilizes only one trading style. So you’re stuck with that, whether it works well or not. In the case of the Executor program, though, each member’s trading portfolio can consist of a combination of one or more trading systems. Members can have any combination of up to five different trading styles associated with their trading portfolio. This factor provides members with the ability to diversify their investing objective to balance poor performing trade styles with good performers and to eliminate any trading style that is not performing.

Clients of FX Executor have the capability to filter the currency pair, setting the money management parameters to suit their individual risk profile. Trading decisions are centered in one master account, managed and monitored 24 hours a day by a human trader. If you want to limit, for example, the lot sizes chosen by the trader for your automated account, you can make those adjustments from the Control Panel. The same goes for stop-loss settings. Though there are settings that are recommended for each style, you can change those settings if you wish.

One fact that stood out from the Accurate program was that the aggressive trade setting seemed to gather more losses than winners during the early months of its operation. And that one of the traders at the time would use a martingale betting sequence in order to recoup his losses, a strategy that often led to further losses. While the Administrators of the Accurate program can be praised for recognizing this and making changes, the fact that it happened at all was a little unsettling. For this reason, Administrators cautioned members to be careful of trading systems which were labeled as “Aggressive.” They recommended staying with either the conservative or moderate trading styles while adjustments were being made with the Aggressive style.

What you will get with the Forex Executor program is a service that monitors the trading results of the traders inside its system and informs the membership of each trader’s performance, good or bad, in real-time. If the trader’s performance is bad, then they replace him with another trader. They make it very clear that what they are selling is this service and not software, Expert Advisors, or signals.

If you can live with that, then perhaps you can use this service to help you build a trading portfolio that finds winning trades without having to find them yourself. As most experienced traders will tell you, it takes time to uncover a successful trading style, so make sure you test this for the full two months allowed (it carries an 8-week money back guarantee) before coming to any conclusion.

As a likely comparison of results that one might expect using the Forex Executor service, during a two month period earlier this year (2011) the Forex Accurate system boasted of delivering over 8,000 pips in profits. Although they neglected to mention their losses during this same time period, this number would be easy enough to find as their results are published on the Internet at neutral third-party sites like mt4i.com and myfxbook.com.

It is worthy to note that some users who initially bought the service are still using it: “I’m still using the service. The performance is not bad,” one user posted in late May. However he qualified his statement by adding: “I run it with low risk settings because nobody knows the logic behind the systems.” Our verdict is: it seems to be interesting enough to try out, and may even prove to be a useful addition to your forex trading. Just take it slow and easy and test, Test, TEST before bringing it online in a live account.

Movie Review – "The Big Lonely" – Surviving in Isolation

“The Big Lonely” is a captivating film telling the story of Michael Nelms, a persecuted man beaten down by an uncaring bureaucracy and left penniless to live on the streets. Having been a successful car dealer, a real estate broker and the victim of several bad marriages, retreating to a remote forest hideout seems a logical choice. Living under a bridge as a homeless person has no appeal for this man.

As he talks into the camera we discover he has built this small cabin on federal land and justifies his right to be there by calling it a mining claim, a bogus one he confesses. One of his daily tasks is to collect water from a nearby stream. The winter has been harsh and he has to chip through a foot of ice. Leading the way is his dog Tic, a mix of wolf and Malamute. Food is a constant need in this wilderness and obtaining fresh meat is a demanding challenge. In the winter, elk and deer go to lower elevations where food is more plentiful and the snow is not so deep. Snow pack levels have reached as high as ten feet in past years

As such, meat sources are limited to rabbits, coyotes, and rats. Dressing out of such animals and cooking them is a major part of the film. Michael shares his fixings with his dog Tic and their relationship is one of equal partners in their quest to survive.

However, the survival issues are not what make this film unique, it’s the positive attitude of the participants, both Michael and his dog, Tic. They accept the hardships as a part of life and work together to overcome them. When a bear attacks Michael and pins him on the ground, he stabs the animal in the windpipe. He describes this ordeal in detail, down to the whizzing sounds as the bear gasps for air. It’s a horrendous moment in his life and he displays the resulting scars with some trepidation. While the bear meat did get them through another winter, the attack left him with repeated nightmares. Michael recounts, “Dreams are where you take you mind. Nightmares are where your mind takes you.”

It’s philosophies like these that give weight to this film, that this man has learned from his time in the wilderness, and openly shares his thoughts with us. He talks about dying and wanting his body to replenish the land that fed him for so many years. With supplies running low in the midst to winter, the two journey some fifty-miles to restock. Michael sets up camp outside the town and finds various jobs to buy supplies that will get them through the next winter.

You may be asking how could he videotape this much footage without an electrical source to recharge the camera batteries. While not covered in the film I did notice a couple of solar power devices mounted on a tree, which likely allowed for the battery recharging.

The film is a stunning self-shot account as we eavesdrop on a man finding peace and understanding in the Oregon wilderness. It is one man’s inspiring story of resilience and the durability of the human spirit. A heartwarming film, “The Big Lonely” imparts prophetic wisdom about the sins of the past and hopes for the future..

How to pass CCNA: 6 Steps to Success

CCNA is one of the most respected Associate level Certification in the world today. Getting a CCNA will definitely help you to get a better job or at least get your foot into Professional Networking Field. When you meet a person that has CCNA degree you will notice that he or she knows something about Networking. This article will describe and give you some tips on how to achieve CCNA. I did it so can you, so lets get started.

  • 1. Getting ready mentally: First thing you need to do is mentally prepare your self. What I mean by that is that you have to seriously think about on why you are getting a CCNA and why do you want to be CCNA certified. You have to firmly decide and believe that you will get CCNA within next 3-6 months or so. Try to budget your study time well. If you're very social person (like me) you will have to give up some of your social time for the next couple of months. Your friends and family will understand. Trust me: it is well worth it. Once you get that cert you can make up for the lost social time.
  • 2. Getting the right study material: Second thing you need to do is to get proper study material. There is a lot of controversy around this and some people going overboard with study guides, books, simulators and such. I believe that two Cisco Press books INTR and ICND by Wendell Odom are enough as far as the books go. They are really well written and easy to follow. So sign up at [http://www.ciscopress.com] and get those two books. Make sure you got the latest version. You will also want to get some kind of a simulator that will let you practice commands and that will also build up your confidence. You can buy real equipment but that could get expensive. I highly recommend that you become a member of the Cisco Certification forum. Forum is huge and you will get lots of helpful answers, tips and advices pretty quick. (I know I did)
  • 3. Approach and diving deep: There are many different approaches to studying from books but I will tell you about mine. This step will take the most of your studying time. -Before you even start reading any of the books I suggest learning binary math (really easy) and subnetting so you can do it in your sleep. Http // www.learntosubnet.com is excellent resource. -read both books casually once from front to cover (make sure you cover introduction and practice questions too). This will give you good overview. -Install both CD's that came with books and practices some of the questions. Do not worry if you get lot of them wrong. -Now, you will ready both books again but this time you will have to read it to really understand the concept and how things work. Master one chapter and do questions from just that chapter until you sick of it. Then move to the next chapter. -Once you mastered all chapters do lot of questions and labexercises. Those two CD's will give you ability to do that. 4. Schedule the test: You're not done yet with studying but it is really good to schedule the test after you completed step 3 in this article. Here is why: If you schedule the test a month in advance right after you completed step 3, you will not be able to slack and make excuses not to study hard until tests and it is also good to give your self a headline. I have seen people working on their CCNA for 2 years. They master one or two chapters, then they rest for 2 two months and right when they think they are ready for the next chapter, they forget what they have learned in the first chapter. 5. Read both books one more time to refresh. This is optional, but I highly recommend reading the two books one more time. If you read both books in a three week that will give you one more week before the test to cram which is subject of the next step. So by now you should read both books three times over. I also suggest re-reading questions and answers from both books one more time. 6. Cram, Cram and Cram- This is the last part of your study and there is no turning back. Deadline is hanging around your neck like a noose. You should cram Q & A for no more then 10 days before you take the test. At this point it is really important that you get fresh and different questions then those included with your CD's. Some people claims that brain dumps or Q & A are bad and evil. I tend to disagree with that. At this point you already firmly grasped the whole CCNA concept and Q & A will only help you. So get some Q & A exam question and cram, cram and cram them for a week. Do not use books or CD's anymore. There is no looking back. No worries, material from the books will return to you at the right time. -Don't do any studying a night or a day before the test. Go out with your wife or significant other to a dinner and a movie. Relax. It is very important to relax and get a good night sleep since one of those testing boots could really be intimidating. If you did all the steps above and read books with intention to understand the topics and how stuff works (no pun intended), and not just to pass the test you should be more then ready by now. We came to an end of this short tutorial. I hope this article give you at least some ideas on how to approach studying for CCNA. If you fail CCNA first time, do not get discouraged. You will have more knowledge and confidence when you attempt it the next time then the person who passed it on the first try. Whatever approach you take I wish you good luck and prosper career.
